The Middle School builds on the strong foundations of the early years, equipping students with the skills and confidence to take greater ownership of their learning. Through explicit instruction, students master key concepts with clear guidance before applying their knowledge independently. This stage is crucial for developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and perseverance as students engage with increasingly complex ideas and refine their ability to transfer learning across subjects, laying the groundwork for success in the senior years.

• Students continue to develop their literacy and numeracy skills with increasing independence and complexity. Reading and writing tasks focus on depth, comprehension, and varied purposes, while mathematics emphasizes problem-solving, reasoning, and applying skills to real-world contexts. 

• Studies in Science and the Humanities deepen understanding of the natural and social world, encouraging questioning, research, and collaborative exploration.

• Religious Education expands to include Scripture, Catholic traditions, and moral decision-making, helping students understand how faith informs their actions. Social and Emotional Learning remains a key focus, supporting students to build confidence, manage challenges, and develop respectful, supportive relationships.
